Hello, I am John J. Williams, M.S.E.E. Thanks for visiting here. Please bookmark, save and/or print this webpage.
We buy, sell, trade new and used electronic salvage / electronic overstocks, computer salvage / computer overstocks, industrial salvage / industrial overstocks, shop salvage / shop overstocks, scientific salvage /scientific overstocks (laboratory salvage / laboratory overstocks), commercial salvage / commercial overstocks (office salvage / office overstocks) equipment, tools, parts, components, wire, cable, industrial materials, supplies, books, software.
Trading, buying and selling Online directly, by mail and privately is usually much cheaper, more convenient, safer and less time-consuming than the drudgery of driving around (gas is very high!), finding parking, and hiking through retail stores to buy from or trying to find a local merchant relevant to the particular item!
Live / Visit / Work in Albuquerque, NM Area? We Can Be Your Fast, Direct Source For Electronic / Commercial / Industrial / Shop / Scientific Equipment / Tools / Parts / Wire / Cable, Industrial Materials / Supplies: We literally have tons of electronic, commercial, industrial, shop and scientific parts, wire, supplies and equipment (lists below) - much of it hard-to-get stuff and not usually immediately available from even the industrial stores in Albuquerque - stuff you may now be special ordering / back ordering PLUS paying a premium price for PLUS S/H costs PLUS having to wait for. We are located in Albuquerque, New Mexico, and also have storage facilities in Alamogordo, New Mexico (NOTE: We don't have a store open to the public in Albuquerque, NM, or in Alamogordo, NM). If you are in the Albuquerque, NM area, we would like to become the source or at least a source for your technical needs. We do Albuquerque local deliveries and allow pick-ups to provide you items you need - reasonably priced - usually on a same-day basis. This is ideal for you if you are a factory, shop, contractor, agency, university, institution, serious hobbyist or even a technical retail store needing to stock up, especially if you are located in or near Albuquerque, New Mexico or frequent the Albuquerque area (9-5 M-S, closed Sunday & Holidays; minimum pick-up order is $25; minimum delivered order is $25 + $5/mile road distance from corner of Montgomery and Tramway, NE (tax not included)) (if we generate enough business in Alamogordo / Holloman, AFB area, we will extend our services also to Alamogordo area). If so, contact us by email: wizguru@consumertronics.net, SUBJECT Line: "ITEM(s) OF INTEREST" (email is much preferred over phone call for initial contacts - but call if we do not respond to your email within 5 days).
We Want to Buy Your Electronic / Industrial / Shop / Scientific Salvage / Surplus: Do you have a personal or business supply of these types of items (see below for specific item types we are looking for; however, we will seriously consider virtually any electronic surplus, scientific surplus, shop surplus or industrial surplus, whether or not listed below (but no computers / peripherals / copiers older than 5 years, and no picture-tubed TVs / monitors, VCRs, stereos, copiers, etc.))? Please email me, link above. We will try to make an appointment at your convenience and take your surplus off of your hands at no charge to you (free pickup). If you have a closet full of "electronic junk," please just email me and I will do my best to take it off of your hands right away by either picking it up or paying you your S/H for shipping it! If you require payment, we will negotiate about payment for items we particularly need. You'll feel much better knowing that we will make strong efforts to recycle your items to local industry and hobbyists, which will also keep them out of New Mexico landfills).
DIP ICs Wanted - Will Trade SMT Versions For Them: All small electronic parts we Sell or distribute are clean New Old Stock (NOS) - we never intentionally Sell either alone as new or as part of a product we distribute ICs (or transistors, inductors, transformers, capacitors, switches, displays, mikes, transducers or other small electronic parts): Socket pulls, solder pulls, lead clips, factory seconds, factory spills, mixed component piles, or dirty / contaminated parts (we do Buy socket pulls, solder pulls, lead clips, factory spills, and mixed component piles of electronic parts for our in-house uses only - see www.consumertronics.net/misc-condition-parts.htm - email us first, especially if you are in New Mexico, before you toss out, donate or sell to bulk salvage dealers any small electronic components you need to dispose of). Most ICs are in antistatic tubes, antistatic foam, reel, tape or tray. We mostly build our circuits using DIP ICs. Over the years, due to various bulk buys and trades, we have also accumulated a huge supply of SOIC and other Surface Mount ICs. If you have the DIP version (NOS) of what we are looking for to trade or buy and you would prefer the surface mount version instead and we have it or can get it, we should be able to set up a 1:1 trade. Please email me, link above. We are especially interested in DIP CD4059, CD4006 (CMOS 4006, MC14006, SGS4006, HEF4006, HCF4006, TC4006, etc.), CD40106 (CMOS 40106, MC140106, SGS40106, HEF40106, HCF40106, TC40106, etc.), CD4046 (CMOS 4046, MC14046, SGS4046, HEF4046, HCF4046, etc.), LM833, LM318, NE5532, LM3909, CA3130, LM380, LM566/NE566, XR8038/ICL8038, XR2240, LM331, LF398, LM3914, LM3915, LM3916, LM3917, LM2905, LM2907, LM2917, LM10, LM335, SAD512, SAD1024, SAD2048, OP07, OP77 - just to name a few - and their equivalents (if you know of any other really great ICs like these and you have and want to buy, sell or trade them, please email us!). Also, if while you are perusing Online auctions you run into an auction with the items for sale that we are looking for, or know of some other reasonably-priced source for them, and are willing to freely provide us that info, please email me at link above. While we can't promise you anything in return, we generally give serious price breaks to those who substantially help us.
We Have Tons of 4000-Series CMOS and 74 / 54 Series TTL ICs We Need to Sell, Buy or Trade: And due to these same bulk buys, we now have a great quantity and great variety of 4000-series CMOS and 74 / 54 series TTL ICs, of which only a small fraction are listed below. Most of the CMOS are CD4000B and MC14000B series, but we also have SGS, HEF, HCF, TC, SCL and others. Most of the TTL are 74LS, 74S, 74F, 74C, 74HC and 74HCT types, but we have other variants as well. Most are DIP, but some are SMT. We don't use many TTLs these days in our designs, however, they are popular with other electronic designers, and like a lot of older, yet very functional ICs, are getting in shorter supply every day. Many more CMOS and TTL that we deal in are described at these hotlinks. Then please email me at wizguru@consumertronics.net with a list of those specific ICs you want to buy, sell or trade, the quantity you want each type in, and what you would consider a reasonable price for each type in the desired quantity.
Should you want to Sell or
Buy something that is not included on this webpage, let us Sell it or Buy
it for YOU on eBay: www.consumertronics.net/netauctions.htm.

TRADES / SALES
I often privately buy and sell a lot of electronic (and other) items on online auctions (mostly on eBay under by eBay name, "troodont") and also non-online. Most of these electronic parts, test equipment, tools, supplies, and materials I buy I use in my electronics design work, which are a great many. If you also do electronic or shop work, you know that you will probably end up with large quantities of perfectly good items that you can't reasonably use up, that you no longer need or you no longer know what they are and you might even feel guilty about losing money by trashing/donating them, and-or not recycling items that others can use, and at the same time be hurting for other item that you would rather obtain using no or as little money as you possible in these tight times. What to do? I have the solution. If you need something I am selling or you just won one of my Online auctions (or would like to trade or sell me anyhow), and you have perfectly good items that you no longer need and I want, then please immediately email me at: wizguru@consumertronics.net (SUBJECT Line: ITEM(s) OF INTEREST), describing what your items are (type, quantity, condition, any known defects, et al), and the trade ratio (or dollar amount) you want to apply towards them. IF I agree to the possible trade or sell, then I will email you back with an explicit agreement to the trade/sell (usually within two days); until such time, please do not assume that I have agreed to part or all of the trade/sell, and proceed to pay me what you owe for the item(s) you won within 7 days after the end of the auction.
Also, shipping charges will mutually cancel each other out should I agree. If I agree to the trade, I will do the trade with you - EVEN IF YOU ARE NOT THE WINNER - as long as there was at least one bidder on my item(s) (so that eBay or Yahoo! properly gets its commission), and if I have the quantity in stock to satisfy both the winner and your trade offer (the eBay or Yahoo! winner gets first priority). I want any trade agreement between us to be mutually fair and profitable at minimal expense to both of us. It is very simple: Find out what you have, find out what you need, and then email us a proposal (in email SUBJECT, be specific, e.g. "I have 50 CD4053 to sell," to avoid my spam blockers). Some Trade examples:
Example #1 - EVEN-STEVEN TRADE: You are interested in 50 LM393 comparators, which you find herein in my Items I Want to Trade off or Sell (which from time to time may be listed in one of my eBay or Yahoo! auctions). You have 25 LM318 op amps I need, listed herein in my Items I Want to Trade for or Buy. You email me with: "John, I have 25 LM318 to trade for 50 of your LM393 (if auctioned, Item #xxxxxxxx), for a 2-to-1 even-steven trade. I email you back, "OK, I agree to your offer." If I have it on auction, after the auction ends with a winner - whether it is you or someone else - instead of sending me any money, you send me the 25 LM318. When I receive them here and inspect and approve your 25 LM318*, I then ship you my 50 LM393. This is an even-steven trade - YOU ARE OUT NOT ONE PENNY (if each of our shipping costs exactly cancel out), and if we were also auctioning off the item, the Online auction service gets its sale commission.
Example #2 - YOUR ITEMS ARE WORTH LESS THAN MINE: Same situation as above, except you have only 10 of the LM318. You email me with: "John, I have 10 LM318 to trade them for 50 of your LM393 (if auctioned, Item #xxxxxxxx), 2-to-1 trade, and pay you for the remainder 30 (50 - 10x2) remainder LM393 on a prorated basis." I email you back, "OK, I agree to your offer." If auctioned, my auction price** is for example $10. You send me the $6 ($10 x 30/50) with your 10 LM318s. I then inspect and approve* your 10 LM318, and ship you my 50 LM393. If not auctioned, we then go by a mutually agreed upon price, for example, the price found in the Digi-Key or JameCo catalog, or otherwise negotiated price.
Example #3 - YOUR ITEMS ARE WORTH MORE THAN MINE: Same situation as above, except you have 1,000 of the LM318. You email me with: "John, I have 1,000 LM318 to trade for 50 of your LM393 where each one of my LM318 is worth two of your LM393 (if auctioned, Item #xxxxxxxx), and sell you the rest based on your formula pricing." I email you back, "OK, I agree to your offer, but I only need 100 of them." If auctioned, my initial listing price was $10** for the 50 LM393 (20 cents each), making your LM318 worth 40 cents each; if the ratio of the items I want to the items you want is 2.0 or less, we calculate (based on my auction price**) similarly as in previous example (except I am paying you), in this case, $30 ($10 x [{100x2.0}-50]/50). If the ratio is greater than 2.0, then we negotiate for a mutually agreed upon price based on the fact that parts purchased in larger quantities are always priced less per unit than in smaller quantities. Again, if not auctioned, we then go by a mutually agreed upon price, for example, the price found in the Digi-Key or JameCo catalog, or otherwise negotiated price. The fact is that when one buys electronic parts in large quantities, online or anywhere else, he pays a much lower price per item. For example, if I buy a part for 30 cents each in quantities of 10, more than likely, I can get that same part for about 3 cents each in quantities of 10,000. I then inspect and approve* your 100 LM318, and ship you my 50 LM393.
Example #4 - MY ITEM WAS NOT AUCTIONED or YOU MISSED OUT ON MY AUCTION BUT STILL WANT TO TRADE OR SELL ITEMS: My item was not auctioned or you missed out on my auction, but you are still interested in my item and you have items of interest to me. Contact me anyhow, and let's see if we can arrange a trade and sale combination based on the Examples #1 - #3 above, based on the item my online auction listed, its quantity, and its initial or ending price (whichever applies), or prices based on Digi-Key or JameCo. Of course, if I am out of the item (many of my Online sales occur only once), or I have it all earmarked for a future Online auction sale, I can't help you. If I intended to offer the item (again) on an Online auction, I will ask you to wait until I re-list it.
Example #5 - YOU HAVE NO INTEREST IN ANYTHING I AM SELLING, BUT YOU HAVE ITEMS YOU WOULD LIKE TO SELL ME: You don't have an interest in anything I am currently selling herein or on one of my Online auctions, but you have items of interest to me (see above for list), then please email me and we'll see if we can make some kind of deal together.
What value I will apply to what you offer me as trade depends on what it is, it's condition, its quantity, what it is normally priced (e.g. in JameCo or Digi-Key), and just how much I need it. I will also seriously consider Buy/Sell/Trade offers for one or more types of items I am interested in for any combination of all of my items listed herein or on any of my Online auctions. For examples: Your items are 20 LM3909 linears plus 200 CD4053 CMOS, or a bag full of various ICs, or 10 different wrenches, etc. Since such combinations are practically unlimited, if you have such a combinational offer, please email me with it (again be specific in your email SUBJECT line to avoid spam blockers). Only then can I determine whether I'll accept your offer, and which example(s) above it falls into.
*NOTE: All traded items are subject to my inspection and approval first. Upon receipt your item(s), I will inspect and randomly sample test them. This should take 3-10 work days (M-F, excluding national holidays) to complete. If I am satisfied with your items, I will complete the deal with my items and any payment from me (see Example #3 above). If our deal includes any dollar payment to me, then clearance of that payment must occur before shipping (10-15 work days - no clearance required for Postal M.O., Western Union), else I do my best to ship you your win within 3 work days. However, if for any reason I am not satisfied with your item(s), I will return them to you; in which case, the trade part of our deal is null and void without any liability to me, and in which case you then must pay me for the total amount of your auction win (only if you won my Item in an auction) as if our trade agreement never occurred. Furthermore, I reserve the right to cancel any auction any time BEFORE its completion without prior notice or reason given and without liability to me. Furthermore, I reserve the right to cancel any auction any time AFTER its completion if I reasonably believe that fraud was involved in the auction (e.g. shill bidding), without prior notice or reason and without liability.
**NOTE (Auction Cases): In both Example #2 and Example #3 above, my FINAL AUCTION PRICE applies if it is not less than 90% of the fair market value of the item as commercially listed in JameCo, Digi-Key or elsewhere for that type of Item quantity and Item condition. That's because I often initially list items very low - sometimes much lower than item actual worth - and occasionally these items close with no winner or at or near the low listing price. Auction price is irrelevant under Example #1 since no money changes hands - the transaction is mutually agreed upon regardless of the listing and closing prices.
NOTE: I am not interested in all electronic parts. I am primarily interested in small parts. I will not accept dirty, damaged, defective or mislabeled parts, tools or equipment, or electronic parts not cleanly pulled from clean sockets, and that sample-tested as 99+% good. I have no interest in vacuum tubes, except those used for microwave and radar (e.g. klystrons), old TVs, VCRs, stereos, Mac or pre-2003 PC computers, peripherals or software. Type of part package must be disclosed (e.g. DIP, SOIC, SIP, can, etc.). Again, my interest is primarily in scientific, industrial (including small shop) and commercial/office items primarily electronic, electrical and computerized in nature, and preferably in good quantity. If you need to buy an item but see it listed on my Buy list only, please also email me about it because I may have just gotten the item in a quantity where I can sell you some. Also, if you need to sell an item but see it listed on my Sell side only, please also email me about it because I may have just sold out or low on the item and am now looking to buy some more.
WHAT TO DO IS VERY SIMPLE: (1) Determine what you have and-or want that fits a
description above, and what you believe that you must have for what you have.
(2) Email me with the description of what you have and how much you want to
apply it towards an auction sale to mine, or for something you want described
above (be as
complete and accurate as possible, put "Proposed Items Offer" or
similar in your email SUBJECT line):
wizguru@consumertronics.net. (3) If I email you an explicit agreement or
counteroffer, then consider your bidding strategy for my eBay or Yahoo! offer,
if your proposed trade/buy/sell involves an auction. (4) Once the auction is
over, send me what you need to send me (in parts and-or money as described
above). (5) Upon my approval of what you sent me*, I will complete the
transaction with my parts and-or money (as described above).
Applicable Policies are at: www.consumertronics.net/policies.htm. Thank you for your time and attention. And thank you for taking an interest in doing business with me. The best of successes in all that you do. John J. Williams, M.S.E.E.
